I'm Angie! I graduated from college with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and taught for four and a half years before becoming a stay at home mom and homeschooler. My passions in life are Math and more recently learning more about teaching second language learners English.
As a teacher, I taught PreAlgebra through Advanced Math. I have also tutored Elementary kids through high schoolers. I like to bring a creative approach to my instruction and help student think outside of the box. While teaching my own children, I have had a lot of experience with Common Core standards and enjoy implementing them into a student's learning.
I am in the process of earning my 120 hour ESL Certificate. I really enjoy meeting and working with learners from different backgrounds and look forward to working with English Language Learners.
There is often more than one way to approach a math problem. I have worked with students learning Math from Kindergarten through Calculus. I know the big picture, and have experience breaking down the steps in a way that is appropriate for the student. My experience teaching has given me a long list of strategies to implement with students who are struggling or want to get ahead.
In my previous teaching experience, I worked with many English Language learners. I enjoy the challenge of helping students learn new things about language and culture.
I look forward to working with you!
