I hold a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology.
With over 30 years of professional experience in software engineering, embedded systems, and alternative energy systems, I am well-equipped to tutor programming (Python, JavaScript, Java, C/C++), embedded systems, cloud development (AWS, Azure), and alternative energy systems design. My career has allowed me to work across diverse sectors, providing a strong foundation for guiding students in both practical and theoretical aspects of these fields.
Throughout my career, I have actively taught and mentored others, including one-on-one mentoring of junior developers at companies such as Powerhive Inc., Odyssey Energy, and UNHCR. In these roles, I helped developers strengthen their skills in debugging, code structuring, and design best practices. I have also trained colleagues on using Python for IoT data collection, database design with PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB, and automated data analysis techniques using FEDOT and Power BI to build effective dashboards.
My experience includes explaining complex technical concepts clearly within remote team environments, helping developers understand embedded firmware, solar system integration, and cloud server architecture. I use a hands-on, project-based approach where learners build practical, working solutions while grasping the theoretical foundations behind them.
I primarily teach adults, including college students and professionals, but I am also comfortable working with high school students interested in programming and STEM careers. My teaching has taken place in remote one-on-one settings, small group coaching, and pair programming environments, allowing for flexible, learner-centered sessions that adjust to each student’s pace and goals.
My teaching style emphasizes clarity, patience, and practical learning, focusing on problem-solving and project-based tasks so that students can immediately apply what they learn. My goal is to empower learner
