This has led me to spend a lot of time with them ensuring they understand the material and can grasp concepts so they can succeed in class....

This has led me to spend a lot of time with them ensuring they understand the material and can grasp concepts so they can succeed in class. I've seen them score 60s on a quiz and a week later get a 100 on a test. That may not be everyone but I mix the new school teaching with old school technique so children know how to check their work and verify answers. I will work up extra examples if they are struggling with a concept so we can walk thru it. And we will try to apply certain topics to real life (think percentages and how it relates to taxes and tips). I want children to love math not fear it. It can be fun if done right, so let's help your child solve their next problem.
