I’m a certified K–6 Elementary and K–12 Special Education teacher with over 14 years of experience in public education. I specialize in helping students who are behind, overwhelmed, or need extra support due to ADHD, dyslexia, or IEPs.

I’m a certified K–6 Elementary and K–12 Special Education teacher with over 14 years of experience in public education. I specialize in helping students who are behind, overwhelmed, or need extra support due to ADHD, dyslexia, or IEPs.

I truly believe that all students can learn when given the right tools and support, and I’m passionate about helping each child discover how they learn best.

I hold a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from University of North Carolina at Charlotte, an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Lees-McRae College, and additional certification from Forsyth Technical Community College.

I am certified in:

I previously taught Social Emotional Life Skills Class and General Curriculum K-5th Grade. I taught K-6th Grade Special Education for 8 years. I have taught grades PreK-7th Grade. I just finished up my 12th year teaching. I have taught summer school grades 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I love teaching reading, math, writing, behavior, social emotional skills, and students with all ability levels. I have taught many students with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Learning Disabilities in various subjects, visual impairments, behavior problems, organizational problems, and much more. Through my education I have studied a variety of disabilities and learning styles. I love to teach and want students to love learning. I have tutored privately and through the school system for over 14 years. I have taught homebound, special education, and general education as well. I want to ensure all lessons are student-centered and differentiated so that all students get the support they need. I thrive on open communication and working as a team in order to achieve the goals you have set for yourself or your student.
