Bio

I have been tutoring since 2002 in the areas of math from elementary through college algebra and since 2007 in the areas of computers and economics to college students. I currently have a bachelor's degree in Business and Marketing Education with a concentration in Economics and am working on obtaining a license to teach Special Education.

As far as tutoring, I generally use diagrams and figures for the student to see what is going on. Once I feel that the student is comfortable with the objective, I have them teach me in their own way how to complete the problem.

  • Rate details: For lessons cancelled 2 hours or less prior to the lesson, I will charge for one-half hour of the lesson. If it is 30 minutes or less prior to the lesson, I will charge for a full hour.

I can tutor Elementary English (grammar, spelling, and writing) and Elementary Math. I have tutored Elementary Math since 2002. From October 2010 until June 2011, I volunteered in a special education resource room working with children in grades 4-6 in subjects of math, reading and writing. During this time, I co-taught different reading skills such as inferences, making predictions, and comprehension skills. Near the end of the school year, I personally mentored the three sixth grade students in their research papers on a specific US President of their choosing.
