I am a computer engineer with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University. During my time at NC State, I served as a Teaching Assistant for Fundamentals of Logic Design and introductory engineering courses. I also volunteered as a tutor through a student organization. Students would often request to work with me specifically, and I received strong recommendations from the teaching staff I worked with. These experiences gave me the opportunity to work one-on-one with students as well as help groups of students understand challenging technical material.
My academic background and professional engineering experience allow me to connect classroom concepts to real-world applications. In my professional career, I have worked as a software engineer and as an electrical design engineer on engineering projects. I can tutor subjects including digital logic, Boolean algebra, circuits, Verilog/VHDL, programming, C/C++, calculus, and other computer engineering and introductory engineering topics. I especially enjoy helping students understand not just how to solve a problem, but why the solution works.
My tutoring approach is patient, practical, and tailored to each student. I start by identifying what the student already understands and where they are getting stuck, then break the problem into smaller steps and work through the reasoning together. I want students to become confident enough to solve problems independently rather than simply memorize procedures or receive answers. Whether a student is preparing for an exam, working through difficult homework, learning programming or digital logic for the first time, or trying to understand an engineering concept more deeply, my goal is to make the material approachable and help them build lasting problem-solving skills.
