I am an experienced teacher and tutor for all elementary subjects. I am trained in the Orton Gillingham Multi-Sensory learning approach. It is my desire to help students feel confident in their academic adventures. I believe it is important to understand a child's strengths and weaknesses to help them grasp the academic skills they need to succeed.

I have experience in helping students with difficulties in both reading, writing and math. I also work tirelessly to find books and activities to help engage students in fun activities to meet their academic needs. As a parent I understand the difficulty watching your child struggle in school. It is my goal to help children feel good about themselves and pursue their academics without any doubt about their abilities.

Personally, I have the keen sense of taking the time to get to know someone and understand their needs both socially and emotionally. These skills have also been evident as a mother of 4 very different children. I have learned that each student is very different, and is unique in how they learn and how they are motivated to grow academically.

Given the current environment, I have been working with students online and in person to help them fine-tune their academic skills and prepare for the upcoming year. I have access to numerous tools to create engaging and creative lesson plans.

I believe that to help build students background knowledge and skills as a reader, they need to learn how decode words and their meaning. Therefore, I use Orton Gillingham to teach decode (reading), encoding (spelling) and syllabication rules to read and understand 3, 4, and 5 syllable words, as well as, learning Greek and Latin prefixes and suffixes to helps students understand unknown words. I am certified to teach all Elementary classes K-5 grade. As a certified elementary school teacher, I am experienced in meeting the needs of diverse learners in math, reading, writing, social studies and science.
