For about a decade I have been teaching photography and video, mostly at the college level, though I have also taught at a high school and through art centers.
I have always had a love of language as well, and recently became certified to teach English as a second / foreign language. I am really excited about this new avenue to engage with others and to help others learn and grow.
As a teacher, I am rigorous in terms of expectations, but playful and relaxed with the learning process and environment. I believe that good learning comes from a comfortable and supportive environment that at the same time challenges students. I also am interested in working with the students needs, and will tailor lessons to meet those needs. Regardless of specifics, I see learning as an ongoing process of two-way communication.
