With 18 years of experience in elementary education, including 10 years in the classroom and 8 years as an elementary math coach, I am passionate about helping students develop strong mathematical understanding and confidence. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with teachers, students, and families to support meaningful math learning. I have hosted parent math nights to help families better understand problem-solving strategies and instructional approaches that may look different from the math they experienced in school. I believe that when students and families understand the “why” behind mathematics, learning becomes more meaningful and less intimidating.
I understand that math anxiety is real, and I strive to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and grow as mathematicians. Equity is at the center of my work, and I firmly believe that all children can learn and make meaningful progress with the right support and opportunities. I am proud to have supported my students and teachers in multiple years of high growth in math. In addition to coaching and tutoring students privately and through my school, I also teach pre-service undergraduate students during the school year, helping future educators understand the reasoning and concepts behind elementary mathematics instruction. My goal as a tutor is to meet each child where they are, build confidence, and help them experience success in math.
