Bio

With over 8 years of experience working with children in both academic and community settings, I have developed a strong understanding of how to support students not just in one subject, but in their overall relationship with learning. While I specialize in English, my interdisciplinary background in psychology allows me to take a whole-child approach—focusing on emotional well-being, learning habits, and long-term academic engagement. My goal is always to help students feel confident, supported, and genuinely interested in their education.
I currently serve as a substitute teacher across all grade levels, with a particular passion for working with elementary students. In this role, I regularly lead classrooms, implement lesson plans, and teach content just as a full-time teacher would, ensuring students remain engaged and on track academically. My experience began as a Sunday School assistant teacher and has since expanded to include classroom instruction, one-on-one tutoring, and mentorship. In every setting, I focus on identifying where students need support and designing creative, personalized strategies to help them succeed and stay engaged with school for the long run.
Academically, I am completing my final year at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), where I am a member of the Honors Program and double majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies: Psychology and English. I also take additional coursework at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) to further broaden my knowledge and skill set. I’ve consistently earned top academic honors, including recognition on the President’s Honor List, all while balancing my work as an educator and student mentor. Education has shaped my life, and I’m passionate about helping others experience its full impact.
