Hello! I'm Amir, and I graduated magna cum laude as well as made Dean's List several times upon receiving my Bachelor's in English and minor in Linguistics. Hello! I'm Amir, and I graduated magna cum laude as well as made Dean's List several times upon receiving my Bachelor's in English and minor in Linguistics. Funny enough, originally I wanted to major in the medical field and take off from there; however, I felt a stronger calling when it came to English and language in general. Part of that was mostly due to the educators I was very lucky to have, who not only made the subject easier to grasp whenever I was confused but also made it enjoyable. That reignited my love for reading and literature and I decided I want to help others using methods that make things simplier for students, and even fun.
I have been a substitute teacher for 2+ years, helping numerous students with an array of subjects as well as being involved with both an afterschool program and childcare for over 4 years at the local YMCA and even volunteering with the youth in other fields. This also extends to special needs children in high, middle, and elementary school, whether it be one-on-one or in small groups involving lessons. When it comes to tutoring, creativity is what I strive for, such as using little games, repetition, or little anecdotes to help them slowly get there. That and, of course, plenty of understanding and patience, as I know what it was like to feel lost and struggle with some of these things. In my humble opinion, the greatest feeling shared by me and my students is when they figure out the question and problem. It's that feeling, the connections I've made, and wanting people to thrive in this field is what motivates me to continue doing all this. So yes, essays, grammar, or the rules of English in general, don't be afraid or hesitate to reach out to me with any additional questions.
