I have worked in an elementary school setting for the past 13 years. I began my career as a third grade Instructional Assistant for two years before becoming a classroom teacher. Over the last 11 years, I have taught 5th grade for 8 years, 2nd grade for 2 years, and 4th grade for 1 year. Most of my teaching experience has focused heavily on upper elementary math instruction, particularly in 5th grade.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students ranging from 6 to 11 years old in both whole group and small group settings, as well as through one-on-one intervention and support. My teaching philosophy centers around meeting the needs of every learner. I understand that every child learns differently, so I use a variety of instructional methods and strategies to help students build confidence, deepen understanding, and succeed academically. I focus on creating engaging, supportive lessons that encourage students to think critically, ask questions, and develop problem-solving skills.
