Hello, my name is Ethan! I am a student at ECU in my final year of studying theatre for youth and theatrical movement studies. When I was growing up, I had many activities that I loved doing and many subjects that I loved learning about, and I could never choose one, so I started to mix them together. This led me to an interest in multidisciplinary learning, learning how two different things can be connected and work to enhance both of them. Because of my interests, I have learned to find the fun and fulfillment in any subject by learning it on my own terms. I believe that the more you enjoy what you're doing, the more information you retain, and I will always work to make sure that your learning experience with me is that best that it can be.
I began learning Spanish in high school. It started as a necessary credit to graduate, but I became enthralled with the language and how fun it was to learn. I have completed heavy coursework in Spanish and received a 4 on the AP Spanish language exam. Both of my siblings speak Spanish as well, and my sister and I worked together to prepare her for a trip to Mexico that she began a few months ago.
Learning music is something that has been very important to me. I began learning piano when I was 7 years old, and working with the instrument lead me to my love and passion for music in general. I became the assistant director to my school's a cappella group and was responsible for leading rehearsals, teaching songs, and working with the individual sections to make the piece come together. This developed my ear training skill, and I learned how better to use the piano as a tool to teach voice. I was also the music director for a production of The Christians in mid 2018 and was responsible for choosing and preparing the musical arrangements we would use in the show, as well as putting them together with the vocalist.
