I'm a physician (MD) currently completing my pediatrics residency at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC — my hometown. I graduated from the Brody School of Medicine at ECU in 2024, earned a Master's in Physiology and Biotechnology from NC State in 2019, and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar in 2018, majoring in Quantitative Biology with minors in Computer Science and Chemistry. Before medicine, I worked as a software engineer at Capital One.

I'm a physician (MD) currently completing my pediatrics residency at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC — my hometown. I graduated from the Brody School of Medicine at ECU in 2024, earned a Master's in Physiology and Biotechnology from NC State in 2019, and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar in 2018, majoring in Quantitative Biology with minors in Computer Science and Chemistry. Before medicine, I worked as a software engineer at Capital One.
I've been tutoring on Wyzant for over 10 years and have logged over 1,000 hours across science, math, English, test prep, and computer science. I'm especially strong in biology, chemistry, physiology, calculus, and standardized test prep (SAT, ACT, AP exams), and I enjoy working with students headed toward pre-med or STEM tracks who want tutoring from someone who's actually been through that pipeline. I'm also comfortable teaching programming fundamentals (Java, Python, MATLAB) thanks to my software engineering background.
My approach: I ask students to bring their current materials and specific questions so we can work on what actually matters to them, rather than a generic curriculum. I break concepts into manageable pieces, ask guiding questions instead of just handing over answers, and adjust my teaching style based on how each student learns best. I also volunteer weekly with Special Olympics and co-led the Best Buddies chapter at UNC, so I have real experience working with a wide range of learners and learning styles.
