Hi! My name is Dr. Angela F. and I would enjoy tutoring you in any area of the biological sciences that you may need, as well as communication and natural sciences. I also help with research papers and theses.

Hi! My name is Dr. Angela F. and I would enjoy tutoring you in any area of the biological sciences that you may need, as well as communication and natural sciences. I also help with research papers and theses.

I've been teaching for thirty-one years now at the college level. I taught for 14 years with the NC Community College System and then when I was married in 2002 I transferred to a four-year private college. I currently teach Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Nutrition for Edgecombe Community College, Carteret Community College, Craven Community College, and both Biology and Biological Anthropology for North Carolina Wesleyan College. I have taught a variety to science courses in addition to general biology - histology, embryology, cell and molecular biology, genetics, immunology, and anatomy and physiology.

I was also in the US Army, and served active during Desert Storm in Kuwait, as Public Affairs Officer. I later cross-trained as a Forensic Anthropologist so I spent quite a bit of my time with a remains identification unit. Following 9-11, I joined a military/civilian team and worked Ground Zero with a remains identification unit from December 2001 until May 2002. I again worked with a remains identification group in Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina.

I have spent a significant amount of time living in Madagascar studying handedness in sifakas (lemurs) and in Costa Rica working with white-faced capuchins. Obviously, biological and forensic anthropology are my academic passions. My husband and I have also spent several summers in Ethiopia working with locals on water quality issues. Awesome experience

I worked with Angela prior to taking the GRE for admission into a graduate program. I had a great deal of difficulty with anything relating to Math. My biggest fear was that I would have to spend money on session after session with a tutor and still possibly not pass the quantitative section of the GRE. I worked with Angela for only 2 sessions and was able to surpass the score I needed for graduate admission. Her rates were affordable and she was able to meet at times that were convenient for me. What also made this a rewarding experience for me was Angela's teaching style. I have found that many people may be knowledgeable in a certain area but are poor teachers. Angela was patient and adapted her teaching style to fit my needs (i.e I didn't feel overwhelmed or taught down to). I would highly recommend Angela for anyone seeking to gain a clearer understanding of difficult subject matter with a reasonable cost and time investment. She even provided me with resources for continued study prior to the test and followed up with me after the test to make sure I had passed.

Great Tutor!

Mrs. Angela really helped me for the short time I had her. I started getting tutored about half way through the semester. Considering I was in risk of failure in my biology class, she was able to help me receive a C. I didn't think I was going to able to pull it up that much; therefore, I found her to be a great help. I only wish I would have hired her from the beginning. Overall, Mrs. Angela is a great tutor.

Angela did a great job explaining the information needed for my upcoming exams, as well as helping me understand what I missed on previous exams I have taken. Angela helped me reach my full potential and helped me push back my testing anxiety. I am so glad I got to work with her. She is one of the most patient and understanding tutors I have ever had and would love to work with her in the future if needed. She helped me obtain a C+ in a class that I was failing all semester. Without her help I would have failed the class.
