My name is Emily, and I bring a rich blend of academic training and hands on teaching experience to every tutoring session. I earned a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, which equips me with a deep understanding of the sciences and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, relatable explanations. In addition, I am AMIcertified in Montessori education. This is a credential that reflects my commitment to childcentered learning, individualized pacing, and fostering intrinsic motivation. Over the past twelve years I have worked closely with children across a range of ages, spending the last five years as a classroom Montessori lower elementary teacher where I honed skills in guiding young learners toward independence, curiosity, and confidence.

Beyond the classroom, I have provided private tutoring to students navigating both traditional school curricula and Montessori environments. My tutoring approach blends the preciseness of scientific inquiry with the nurturing, exploratory spirit of Montessori methods. I begin each session by listening carefully to the student’s goals and challenges, then tailor lessons that weave together concepts in ways that feel meaningful and engaging. Whether we’re dissecting a chemistry reaction, exploring a biology diagram, blending words, mastering vocabulary or building foundational math skills, I emphasize active problemsolving, realworld connections, and a supportive atmosphere where mistakes become stepping stones to mastery. My aim is to empower each learner to become selfdirected, confident, and excited about the journey of discovery and learning.
