I like being able to explain math to students in ways that they hadn't thought of before to help it make more sense and help them see it in a new way that shows them how interesting and fun math can really be!
I have a Bachelor's in Mathematics and a Master's in Education from UCSD. I have done private tutoring, in person, online, and through tutoring companies, for many years. I love getting to work one on one with students outside of my classroom because we can make better connections and we are able to go more in-depth to make sure students understand the reasoning behind the math they are doing. I truly believe having this in-depth understanding of the "why" behind math is what helps students see how interesting and useful it is, and it helps them retain the information much better than simply memorizing facts and formulas.
My strong suits are in middle school math, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus, and AP Calculus. Calculus is my favorite subject and I love being able to help students understand the concepts in calculus that seem so complex but are really much easier than they think!
