I’m a CRLA Level 2 certified math tutor and current graduate student in mathematics. I earned my bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Florida State University, and I tutor subjects including algebra, precalculus, trigonometry, calculus, linear algebra, discrete math, and introductory proof-based courses. My strongest focus is helping students in algebra through calculus, especially students who understand examples in class but have trouble applying the ideas independently on homework or exams.
I previously worked as a tutor in a tutoring center, where I helped students one-on-one with a range of math courses. That experience taught me how to quickly identify where a student’s confusion begins, whether it is a missing algebra skill, a misunderstanding of notation, or uncertainty about which method applies to a problem. I have worked with high school students, college students, and adult learners, and I try to adapt my explanations to each student’s background rather than assuming that one explanation works for everyone.
My tutoring style is patient, structured, and focused on real understanding. In a typical lesson, we might review confusing lecture material, work through homework problems, prepare for a test, or rebuild prerequisite skills. I ask questions throughout the session so that students are actively involved instead of just watching me solve problems. My goal is for each student to leave with a clearer understanding of the material, a repeatable problem-solving process, and a concrete sense of what to practice next.
