Hi Parents! Let me help you with the struggle to juggle. I'm Lisa, and I'm a passionate tutor with 14 years of experience. My specialty is K-8 math. As a parent of 4, I know how important it is for your children to have their assignments organized and completed on time. Most importantly, I will help your child have an in-depth understanding of the subject matter, to build confidence. Did you know that elementary students can learn multiplication facts using simple dice and a deck of cards? Elementary-aged children love tactile learning. I encourage students to draw pictures in order to comprehend a math question. Don't be surprised if there's some laughter in our sessions. Learning doesn't have to be dull!
You will have peace of mind as a parent, with one less 'to-do' in your busy schedule. I will be tutoring online or in-person in Greensboro, NC. I earned a B.S. in Computer Science from NCSU, and worked as a software engineer for 4 years. I've tutored elementary math in a public school setting for 6 years, as well as middle school math in private one-on-one settings for 8 years. I've also successfully coached ACT and SAT prep for high school students. I've helped elementary students learn that science is important for growing a foundation of knowledge about the Earth, our bodies, and all of nature. I've navigated with young students to learn about the Sun-Moon phases, biology, geography, and nutrition. I've also tutored language arts and writing at the high school level for 3 years.
Let me be your partner in helping your child confidently reach his or her full academic potential! Just 1 or 2 hours per week can give you peace of mind and help your child excel.
