Bio

I am a graduate of Michigan State University. I home schooled my children through High School and have been tutoring home schooled students for 10 years. Although I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Math and Science. I love to see students' faces when they grasp an idea.

I attended college on a Volleyball scholarship and have coached high school and Junior Olympic volleyball.

I am a firm proponent of giving students the tools of learning so that they can excel in any area. I also believe that laughter accelerates learning. There will be homework after each lesson and I will provide assessments and progress reports.

I will try to be flexible with my time but I do require a 24 hour cancellation notice. I will do my best to help make up that time.

I have tutored logic for nine years with homeschool classes. I have used both Traditional Logic I and II and Introductory and Intermediate Logic. Both of these curricula are used in both public and private school systems. Traditional Logic I is an introduction to Formal Logic. It is a study of the classical syllogism and formal fallacies. Traditional Logic trains the mind to respect truth. It is a High school level text book. Traditional Logic II is Advanced Formal Logic. It is also a High school level text book. It continues the study of deductive inference with the treatment of figure and mood in simple syllogisms, complex syllogisms and hypothetical reasoning. It includes writing assignments and case studies.

I played volleyball at the high school level and went to college on a volleyball scholarship. While I was playing, my high school was the state champions 4 out of 5 years. I also coached high school volleyball for 3 years and coached for the Junior Olympic Volleyball association for 3 years.
