During my time in college I tutored other students, and since then have mentored several junior engineers and helped them to grow their skills including things as simple as understanding the language(s) better, to more complex topics like tweaking algorithms/data structures for maximum efficiency. Though it is not in my current job description, I have also taught others how to use various Office suite programs from basic to advanced.
Regardless of the subject, I believe that the core to teaching someone is to understand where they are coming from. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all solution, so any time I try to help someone understand something, I tailor the learning approach to best fit the way THEY think.
