Hi! I am Rosylin. I am fortunate to have earned a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education in 1999 and a Master of Art in Teaching Elementary Education in 2011 from North Carolina A&T State University. I hold an Educators License for Elementary Education (K-6). I am entering my fifth year of teaching. During my 1st year of teaching, COVID-19 hit. The words asynchronous and synchronous were introduced to me. Pivoting was an undisclosed part of life for us all. during this time as a teacher and parent of school aged children, I had to embrace "virtual reality". My second-year teaching, I taught virtually. This journey was an awakening for me and pushed me to be more intentional about my lesson planning. I learned a lot and am grateful for the experience. The students I am honored to teach benefit from the experience of my journey!
I started tutoring long before I began teaching. My specialty is elementary reading and math. I thrive on seeing my students grow from the beginning to the end. Accessing where students are and providing instruction and rigorous tasks to grow each learner is my focus. Studies show that the foundational years of education in literacy and numeracy are the building blocks for a life of learning. The learning gap has drastically increased from COIVD-19. One on one or small group instruction has proven to be extremely beneficial for learners/educators to close achievement gaps.
Tutoring has afforded me to positively impact student academic performances in reading and math. I look forward to continuing this path to help our young learners to build upon their foundational skills and reach their academic potential. It is my truest belief that the children are our future, and we must impart all things that will be a benefit to them.
