ACT English

Reading and writing have always come easily to me. I will share with you how I approached the ACT Reading and English sections, and how I achieved my high scores. Among other skills, you will learn how to organize your writing, memorize those pesky vocabulary words, identify the main ideas of passages and make the best use of your testing time.

Common Core

I have spent 3 years developing curriculum and creating assessments based off of the Common Core Standards. I began teaching the first year PARCC was introduced in New Mexico and developed small group instruction specifically to teach students how to approach the questions asked on PARCC exams. For teachers with years of experience, Common Core can be frustrating and seem completely new. This isn't the case, though I understand why many teachers find it irritating. I can help dissect each standard and explain what exactly is being stated. By backward planning and learning the verbiage of the standards, I was able to (with my grade-level partner) achieve the highest standardized test scores in the district and our school became the most improved elementary school in the state. This was achieved through instruction based Common Core Standards.

LSAT

I have scored 170 on my first sitting of the LSAT, and have successfully tutored LSAT students to a 90+ percentile score over the past year. I tutor full-time, which allows me to dedicate my energy to making sure you reach your target score!

Reading

As a former educator, I have over 3 years of formal teaching and tutoring in the areas of reading and writing. I have extensive knowledge of Common Core Standards, and have created curriculum maps, lessons plans and assessments based around the standards. My experience in elementary education has given me the opportunity to create the foundation upon which all reading comprehension is built.
