I have a B.S. in Middle Grades Education (Math & Science) from Fayetteville State University. I am a NC Certified Middle Grades Math Teacher. I bring over 6 years of professional tutoring experience supporting students in K–8 Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Common Core concepts, and Test Prep. My goal is to help students build strong skills, real confidence, and a genuine belief that they can succeed in math.
I begin every tutoring relationship with a math skills assessment to identify strengths, gaps, and learning needs. From there, I create an individualized learning plan tailored to each student. My teaching style focuses on clear explanations, step by step modeling, guided practice, and opportunities for students to apply what they’ve learned. I use visuals, real world examples, practice sets, games, and interactive strategies to make math understandable and engaging.
I have taught and tutored students in classroom settings, one on one sessions, small groups, and online environments. I also have extensive experience working with at risk students, helping them strengthen both math and life skills. Many of my students have improved their grades, test scores, and overall confidence through consistent support and structured practice.
Parents receive a brief follow up after each session outlining what was taught, how the student performed, and what we will focus on next. I believe communication and partnership with families are essential for student success.
