Hi, my name is Geneva!
I have over 500 hours of tutoring experience as an ADHD academic coach and ISEE specialist. I have successfully helped students with ADHD go from Cs and Ds to all As and high Bs in addition to maintaining those grades throughout the school year. In terms of the ISEE, I have helped students go from 5’s on their initial diagnostics to 8’s and 9’s on test day. My students are primarily 8th graders aiming to balance difficult academic workload with upper level ISEE preparation for competitive private high school admissions.
In my approach, I equip students with practical and results-driven methods that will allow them to succeed. I teach skills including prioritization, organization, goal setting, and time management. In addition, my focus on quality over quantity has enabled me to successfully guide students to optimize studying efficiency and achieve high grades and test results while minimizing the time involved. I believe in personalizing my approach to each student's needs, based on their academic background, learning style, and existing skill set. By tailoring study plans and habits, I aim to create feasible, long-term strategies that support students throughout their academic journey.
In particular, if you are a highly involved parent and what I have mentioned above sounds like something that would be beneficial to your student, please feel free to reach out. I would be happy to further discuss goals, timeframe, and weekly commitments so that I can determine if I have availability to meet your requests.
