I hold a Master’s degree in English with an emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, along with a TESOL certification. Over the past 14 years, I have taught college composition, ESL, business writing, literature, and professional communication courses in both classroom and online environments. My teaching experience includes working with university students, international learners, and professionals seeking to improve their English communication and writing skills. I have also worked in writing center environments assisting students with academic writing, research papers, essay structure, grammar, and revision strategies.
Throughout my career, I have taught students from a wide range of age groups, cultural backgrounds, and English proficiency levels. My experience includes one-on-one tutoring, small group instruction, and full classroom teaching in higher education and online international programs. I have worked extensively with ESL students to improve speaking, writing, reading comprehension, pronunciation, and academic confidence. In addition, I have experience teaching TOEIC preparation and supporting students with college essays, research writing, and professional communication skills.
My teaching approach is student-centered, supportive, and highly interactive. I focus on helping students build confidence while developing practical communication and critical thinking skills. I tailor lessons to individual learning styles and goals, using clear instruction, guided practice, feedback, and real-world application to help students succeed academically and professionally.
