With nearly two decades of classroom experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge, empathy, and proven strategies to support learners of all backgrounds and abilities. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Educational Administration from Western Carolina University and a North Carolina teaching license earned through East Carolina University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA from both institutions. I am AIG endorsed and have additional credentials in “Understanding and Teaching the Gifted” and “Differentiation by Design.” These certifications reflect my strong commitment to meeting the individual needs of every student, from those requiring enrichment to those who need specialized support. I also passed the Math Praxis, Foundations of Reading, and the Educative Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA) on my first attempt, demonstrating my deep command of content and pedagogy.
I have worked extensively with diverse learners, including students with learning disabilities. My approach is student centered, data informed, and grounded in differentiated instruction. I believe every child can succeed when instruction is personalized, consistent, and delivered with care. Whether I’m working in a traditional classroom, small group, or one-on-one tutoring setting, I integrate technology, hands on activities, and positive reinforcement to foster both academic growth and confidence. I have served on the Cumberland County Schools’ 4th Grade Math Curriculum Writing Team, I also bring curriculum design expertise that ensures lessons are engaging, and rigorous. As a tutor, I create a warm, structured environment where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and build skills at their own pace; I’m here to help them thrive.
