Experienced Reading Specialist seeks teaching opportunities

Greetings!

My name is Amanda and I am so very excited to help your student to become proficient in reading, math, and more! I am currently a teacher in my local public school system, and I absolutely love what I do. My background experience is in all K-6 teaching areas, but my absolute love is teaching foundational reading skills. I truly believe that when students understand how to read, they will learn to love reading, themselves!

I hold a M.Ed. in Reading Instruction, plus a separate licensure in K-6 Elementary Education, and a B.A. in History.

I am proficient and knowledgeable about the importance of foundational skills, the Science of Reading, and more!

I place emphasis on using interactive practice activities to help students understand comprehension, story elements, and more!

I am trained to work with and familiar with the hardships that students with ADD and ADHD face. Differentiated instruction is key to making the learning objectives manageable for your student!
