Can I tell you about the student I’m looking for? They work hard but wonder why the "smart kids" always seem ahead. An "Almost Kid." Almost on the A honor roll. Almost in advanced math. Never quite enough.That was ME. Math was hard, and I feared it would keep me out of college. If your child fights through it at night, I get it.

But they don’t need fixing—they need a head start. I focus on pre-teaching. Seeing the lesson BEFORE class builds ultimate confidence.I coach motivated 5th-8th graders ready to leap ahead (like aiming for Advanced Math 6 or 8th-grade Math 1). Ideally, this is a long-term partnership, not a quick fix.

My credentials: 11 years teaching grades 4-8, former Principal, and Durham Public Schools Director of Accountability. I know the NC Math EOG inside out, hold two master's degrees, and a Duke AIG certification.
