I attended Warren Wilson College in Asheville where I studied photography and classical piano. My training involved classical piano, jazz, and improv which gave me a strong foundation in disciplined practice habits, musicianship, and artistic interpretation. In addition to my formal education, I have continued developing as a musician through performance and accompaniment work. This background allows me to guide students thoughtfully and with clear direction helping students understand not just what to play, but how to approach music with curiosity and confidence.
I have taught piano primarily in one-on-one settings, working with students ranging from young beginners to adults. Over the years, I have helped students prepare for recitals, auditions, and personal musical goals. I am naturally easygoing and personable, while establishing a calm supportive lesson environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing at their own pace.
My teaching centers on building strong technique helping students develop the confidence that allows them to play what they want and how they want. Each lesson is tailored to my student’s goals and learning style while maintaining steady, measurable progress. Whether a student is just starting out or refining more advanced repertoire, my goal is to help them become independent thoughtful musicians who feel proud of their work and excited to keep improving.
