I'm an Alexandria native and attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. While at TJ, I developed a love for both computer science and genetics, which I used toward a mentorship at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. Later, I went on to Virginia Tech and worked in several labs, before I graduated in 2014 with a degree in Biochemistry, and minors in Chemistry and Computer Science.

From middle school onward I've enjoyed tutoring students when I can. I believe myself to be a patient tutor, and I find fulfillment in helping others. I can find multiple approaches to a problem, allowing me to provide the approach that best fits each student.

My mathematics coursework includes BC Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, and Matrix Algebra. I scored a 780/800 on the math portion of the SAT and a 170/170 on the quantitative reasoning portion of the GRE, which are based heavily in Algebra and Statistics.

I have strong reading comprehension, and can quickly pick up on the gist of an article or statement. Further, I am proficient in grammatical knowledge of the English language. My skill in proofreading is exemplified by my 161/170 (87th percentile) in the Verbal Reasoning section of the GRE.

While at Thomas Jefferson HSST, I focused on computer science, taking courses in Java, Python, and Artificial Intelligence. I also was able to implement my computer science skills through a statistical computing mentorship at Walter Reed, and went on to use programming in several labs at Virginia Tech, and earned a minor in Computer Science.

I'm a relaxed and patient tutor, with good course experience and strong test-taking skills. I've had positive feedback that I make things easily understood, and provide flexible explanations. Feel free to get in contact with me for more information!
