I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2025 with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a B.S. in Statistics and Analytics. During my senior year, I worked as a peer tutor at the UNC Learning Center at the recommendation of my organic chemistry professor based on my academic performance and passion for helping others succeed.
As a peer tutor, I specialized in organic chemistry and met with students in-person on a weekly basis to break down complex topics, understand reaction mechanisms, and prepare for exams. Another part of my role as a peer tutor was completing formal training in tutoring methods, focusing on active listening, helping students talk through their problems, and setting specific goals for each session.
As a tutor, I value being patient and methodical over anything else. Especially when it comes to organic chemistry, I find it important to understand the concepts thoroughly, so you can apply your knowledge to a variety of problems that may come up on assignments or exams. My goal is to help students feel comfortable with the material so they don't panic or get frustrated when a problem they haven't encountered before comes up.
During the week, I apply my background in problem-solving to my full-time career in quality at a technology company.
