I am a physicist with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and more than 15 years of experience teaching, mentoring, and training students in Physics, Mathematics, and Engineering. I earned a B.S. in Physics from the University of Mary Washington (UMW), completed postgraduate studies in Particle & Nuclear Physics at the College of William & Mary (W&M), and earned my Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Throughout my career, I have taught and mentored high school, under graduate, graduate, and medical students in both classrooms and one-on-one settings.

My teaching experience includes serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at VCU and W&M, where I taught Physics and Biomedical Engineering courses. I have also served as an invited Guest Lecturer at Duke University and worked as a private mathematics tutor, helping students master course material and prepare for exams.

I specialize in AP Physics, College Physics, Calculus, SAT Math, and introductory Engineering coursework. My teaching style emphasizes patience, clarity, and breaking difficult concepts into manageable steps. At the core of my teaching philosophy is the conviction that any topic can be made accessible to any learner through patience, creativity, and meeting students where they are. This belief gives my teaching a certain tenacity; together, we do not allow student’s difficulties or setbacks to undermine their confidence, momentum, or continued progress.

I strive to create a learning environment grounded in trust, support, and intellectual safety. Students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, making mistakes, and learning from them. My role is to provide guidance and encouragement while helping students develop independence and ownership of their learning. Whether a student is working to improve grades, prepare for an exam, or master a challenging subject, my goal is to help them build the understanding, confidence, and problem-solving skills needed for long-term success.
