I’m currently an undergraduate student at Duke University majoring in Economics and Sociology. Throughout high school, I tutored middle school students in subjects such as English Language Arts and Mathematics in one-on-one settings. During lessons, I focused on explaining concepts clearly, working through practice problems step by step, and helping students build confidence in areas they found challenging. I always try to adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning preferences, as I believe students learn best when material is broken down into manageable and approachable pieces.
At Duke, I have continued developing my teaching experience by serving as an undergraduate teaching assistant within the economics department. In this role, I host weekly discussion classes and office hours, where I work closely with students to review course material, answer questions, and solve practice problems. These experiences have allowed me to teach in both classroom and one-on-one environments while helping students strengthen both their understanding and problem-solving skills.
From an academic standpoint, I have extensive experience in economics, mathematics, finance, and writing-based subjects. I have completed finance certifications in areas such as LBO modeling through Duke University and have worked through programs including Wall Street Prep, RedBook, and Mergers & Inquisitions. I have also audited corporate finance coursework at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, which exposed me to higher-level financial concepts and analytical thinking. Across all subjects, my goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them feel more confident and engaged in the learning process.
