My name is Federico P. I have a PhD in experimental nuclear astrophysics from North Carolina State University (NCSU). I have 7 years of experience teaching university physics courses, both in English (4 years) and in Spanish (3 years).
My last job was as a physics lecturer at NCSU. There, I taught multiple sections (3 per semester) of physics for engineers and scientists aimed at undergraduate students, where the average number of students per section was 100. I taught both in-person and purely online versions of those courses. I also taught Solar System Astronomy to undergraduate non-science majors (students with little or no scientific background) and Nuclear Physics to graduate students.
My methods included interactive lectures with slides containing theory, images, worked-out examples, and videos related to the topic being taught; physics experiment demonstrations (when possible); and, in the last 10 minutes, students would work on a problem.
As for tutoring, I held 60-minute office hours three times a week at the university's tutoring center, where I helped my students as well as any other student requiring assistance in the course I was currently teaching or in any other physics course they were taking.
