Ny name is Sayer, and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, continuing my studies in Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Microbiology, and Spanish. As a pre-nursing student and certified CNA, I use these subjects daily in both academic and clinical settings, which keeps my knowledge active, relevant, and deeply applied. Although I graduated high school recently, however, that is a strength: I remember the exact learning curve students face in these courses and I can explain concepts the way students actually understand them, not just from a textbook perspective.
While I am new to formal tutoring, I have spent several years informally helping classmates, teammates, and peers master subjects such as Chemistry (including thermochemistry, kinetics, equilibrium, and electrochemistry), Biology, and Spanish. My approach focuses on breaking material into simple, repeatable steps, identifying where a student is getting stuck, and teaching not just the “what,” but the “why.” I emphasize active learning, guided practice, and real-life examples, especially for students who struggle with scientific pathways or grammar rules.
Because I am close in age to many of the students I work with, I create a supportive and judgment-free learning environment. My goal is always to build confidence, not just grades. I help students move from memorizing to truly understanding, and I customize sessions to fit each learner’s pace and style. Even without formal classroom experience, my academic background, clinical exposure, and hands-on approach make me a strong and relatable tutor for middle school, and high school students alike.
