Hi! I'm Samantha, and I'm so excited to be returning to tutoring after a few busy years at Duke University. I'll be graduating a semester early this December with a 4.0 GPA (summa cum laude), earning my degree in Public Policy with a minor in Economics.

Hi! I'm Samantha, and I'm so excited to be returning to tutoring after a few busy years at Duke University. I'll be graduating a semester early this December with a 4.0 GPA (summa cum laude), earning my degree in Public Policy with a minor in Economics.
Honestly, teaching has always been where my heart is, and I've genuinely missed working one-on-one with students. I've been tutoring since 8th grade, and over the years I've had the privilege of working with such a diverse range of students; from elementary-aged to high schoolers tackling SAT prep (I scored 1560, 99th percentile). I've worked with students with ADHD and dyslexia as well as children navigating difficult family circumstances. Each student has taught me something new about how people learn, and I've learned to adapt my approach to meet each person exactly where they are.
I believe learning should feel approachable, not intimidating. I start by introducing concepts in a fun, creative way, through real-world examples or stories that make them click. Then we dig into the material together, making sure you understand the "why," not just the "how." Finally, we practice, because that's where real confidence comes from. Of course, every student is different, so I'm constantly adjusting based on what works best for you.
I'm a writer at heart, so I especially love helping students with essays, creative writing, and any assignment where you need to express your ideas clearly and powerfully. There's nothing more rewarding than watching a student find their voice on the page. But I'm equally comfortable with math, test prep, AP science and history topics, reading comprehension, and building foundational academic and organizational skills.
I'm easy to reach and always happy to answer questions, adjust our approach, or simply provide the support you need to succeed. Feel free to reach out anytime; I'd love to work with you!
