Tutor for SAT/ACT math and STEM subjects

Hello, I'm Jaanavi! I graduated my high school as a valedictorian and shortly after went to Duke to study engineering and minor in finance. As far as math courses go, I have experience in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre Calculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC, and AP Statistics, where I scored a 5 on all 3 AP exams. For science courses, I have experience in AP Biology and AP Chemistry, getting a 5 on both exams. Finally, for social sciences and humanities, I have experience in AP English Language & Composition, AP English Literature & Composition, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, AP Psychology, and AP Human Geography, scoring a 5 in all 6 exams.

My most recent experience tutoring is for AP Chemistry for the past school year, but I'm generally confident in tutoring STEM AP courses. My goal as a tutor is to ensure that students feel well prepared and caught up in their class, and I hope to alleviate any stress coming from their classes and encourage curiosity around the learning process. In my experience, I've seen that several students can become easily overwhelmed with the pace of curriculum, breadth of curriculum, or both, and having external support to process information can completely change the way a student views their course. I'd love to help students through practice problems, reviewing lecture notes, and/or finding study methods that are appropriate for them and I'm excited to give students a safe learning environment that goes at their own pace and share resources to help them strive for academic success :)
