My name is David! I am originally from northeast Ohio, and since high school, I have tutored students in various topics ranging from music to biochemistry, both as a volunteer and paid tutor. The majority of my work has been one-on-one, although certain subjects, like music theory, are learned best in a group setting. I have worked with students ranging from middle school to college and have found that everyone has a unique approach to learning that can be utilized to perform better and gain long-term knowledge in the process.
If you would like to practice sight singing, learn music theory, or get advice on your compositions, please let me know. I have over 10 years of music performance and instruction, including teaching trumpet lessons, directing multiple a cappella groups, and leading student groups through rehearsals of my compositions.
If you need help with any STEM subjects, I have completed multiple AP courses and graduated summa cum laude from the College of Wooster with a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, and a minor in Music.
If you need to study for the ACT or MCAT, after graduating, I took a couple of gap years, which included some time to retake my MCAT, as I had rushed into my first test at the end of my senior year. With the help of a Wyzant tutor, I was able to increase my score by 11 points, and I am looking forward to passing on what I have learned! As I start my next chapter at Duke University School of Medicine, I am hopeful to help others find their key(s) to efficient, effective learning.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson! I am easily accessible and will always strive to respond as soon as possible.
