Hi! I’m Jordan, a Masters student from Denver, Colorado. I graduated from Yale magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. in Applied Physics and Humanities. My scholarship was also honored with the Applied Physics Prize, a YoungArts award in Poetry, and distinction in both majors.
Academics isn’t meant to be a linear path. It’s about exploring every student’s unique curiosity. Not everyone is crazy about numbers or writing essays. But favorite sports team wins? Secretly statistics. Video game biomes? Incognito ecology. Designing a new art project? Geometry and material science in disguise. Every student has an academic entry point. Good tutoring helps the student discover it, then propels them to long term passion, hard work, and achievement from there.
I have two years of physics tutoring experience through Yale’s University Physics program. There, I led collaborative learning sessions and individually mentored struggling students, improving exam scores by 60 to 80 percent. I’ve also designed and implemented full courses in novel writing, programming, and mathematics for middle and high school students. These classes combined short, digestible talks with collaborative writing and math exercises. Each student would also meet with me one-on-one to ask questions, refine their final projects, and dive deeper into their individual academic interests.
In our tutoring sessions, the student and I will work together to identify their passion. Then I’ll build a curriculum that uses passion based applications through projects, research, and hands-on experience to prepare your students for necessary academic milestones.
Parents: My absolute goal is to encourage and protect your student’s love of learning. Insights and resources from you and your student are invaluable. I respond quickly, so reach out!
Students: I’m here to help you learn in the way that works best for you. Don’t be shy with the feedback :).
