About me: I hold a degree in Biology and Molecular Biology from University of Maryland Eastern Shore and North Carolina Central University, respectively. From a very young age, I've always had a passion for reading and writing. My hobbies included writing poetry, short stories, essays, instruction manuals, and children's books. While in college, I volunteered as a tutor for elementary school children and thoroughly enjoyed teaching the fundamentals of grammar and punctuation.
As an adult, while working in the lab I found myself writing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the experiments I conducted. I realized there was a true art to writing clear, concise, and accurate SOP's because it enabled my work to be authenticated and replicated. I went on to become a First author in a reputable journal and decided to pursue Technical Writing as a career.
Professionally, I've worked for numerous pharmaceutical companies where I participated in many process improvement initiatives, quality assurance audits, and workflow streamlining projects. I am ASQ Certified in Quality Assurance, also certified in Train the Trainer. I am a member of the NC Writer's Network. I write lifestyle blogs on Medium and am currently working on publishing an E-book for Beginner Technical Writer's.
