While studying, I took the time to take classes and become a tutor with 200+ hours completed to receive my tutoring certification. To use my art degree, I actively became comfortable with creating lessons plans and worksheets while being a supplementary instructor. These experiences have lead me to want to become a full time tutor.
I have a great passion for helping students, young or adult, succeed in their pursuits to learn. Struggling during school has given me a unique perspective on how to tackle and guide those who may have similar road blocks and might not have found the right person to help. As an artist, I enjoy using imagery and interaction with students to make sure they stay engaged visually, physically, and mentally. This helps especially with those who have dyslexia or need help retaining attention. I also enjoy creating custom worksheets and stories for each student so they have a more personalized experience. My main goal after every tutoring session is for any student I encounter to leave with more confidence in themselves to succeed even when I'm not present. If any of my students no longer need me and can manage on their own, I will consider my job complete.
