Greetings. I am a veteran educator with over 32 years of experience as a special and regular education teacher, a program specialist, and a middle school principal. I prefer tutoring middle school math students in grades 6-8 and Math I because math is fun and teenagers are funky and fun. I have been tutoring for throughout my career except when I served as a school administrator.
My tutoring preference is online, but am willing to meet in person if that is a better match. I usually begin a lesson with a warm up and connection to the previous class. Next, I introduce a new topic or problem or essential understanding using multiple methods. Sometimes I tell a story. Sometimes I read aloud something connected to the content. Next, we will practice the concept using the computer, software (Delta Math). Next, I will assign some math practice problems to do on your own in order to check for understanding. Finally, I may assign some homework problems.
