I am currently a MS1 at Duke University School of Medicine and graduated magna cum laude from Duke University as a Neuroscience major with minors in Chemistry and Sociology. In college, I gained extensive experience in tutoring with 100 hours of Organic Chemistry 2. My passion for teaching led me to tutor MCAT part-time for the past 1.5 years, working with over 25 students both on Wyzant and in-person.
These experiences allowed me to learn more about my values as an instructor and what I believe is the best approach for success. I understand that everyone has different needs, goals, timelines, and strengths. I want to make my sessions as personalized as possible so that we can cover what is best for my students. I hope that the successes and challenges from my experience preparing for the exam will help my students approach the exam more effectively.
I scored 522 on the MCAT with subsection scores of 132 on C/P, 128 on CARS, 130 on B/B, and 132 on P/S. I have extensive knowledge of the best resources to prepare for the exam and have helped numerous friends prepare for the exam as well, many of whom scored very well. I will make an active effort to go through each question in detail so that students understand the reasoning behind each answer.
If you plan on taking the MCAT in the near future and would like additional support, please feel free to reach out to me. I would be happy to speak with you and guide you through the process. While I hope to cover most of our content during the lessons, I will be very responsive outside of these hours to answer more urgent questions. I hope to work with some of you soon!
