Hello! Hola!
I am a bilingual(Spanish), high energy teacher and artist who has taught middle school, high school, college, and adult students in a variety of settings and contexts. I have two undergraduate degrees in English and in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism. I also have a Master's degree in English Education. I taught for several years in Ecuador and Colombia, South America, where I was working as an artist and learning Spanish. I am a writer as well and am passionate about creative expression in every form. The number one thing I am most proud of in my teaching career thus far is that I have consistently turned hard-headed "non-writers" into frenzied journal scribblers and short story writers. Everyone has something to share. If you think that you "don't know," or "can't think of anything," give me ten minutes and I'll have you stringing sentences together like you never thought you could.
I am also a proponent of learning Latin/Greek roots and exploring the associations and subtexts of our language which leads to a better understanding of our own thoughts and actions and how we describe them to ourselves and others. Concise personal expression in written and verbal form is power, just as communicating with and understanding those around you is.
I am also a tight rope performer and instructor...and sometimes learning can happen while walking the line.
