Hello Everyone! My name is Levi, and I’m currently a Senior at Western Carolina University majoring in Math and Computer Science. As a senior in high school, I fell in love with the unique way Calculus required me to think outside of the box and solve difficult problems, particularly in collaboration with my peers. With a recommendation from my Calculus II professor, I began tutoring at my university’s drop-in math tutoring center, expanding my love for collaborative learning.
Since then, I’ve tutored over 3 years, and served in a unique role as a Supplemental Instruction Leader, where I developed and facilitated supplemental lesson plans for Calculus II. I’ve also served as an Embedded Tutor in Linear Algebra, where I facilitated study sessions for the course before each major exam. I also began privately tutoring middle school level Algebra.
Through these varied tutoring experiences I’ve grown to appreciate the value of collaborative learning and the unique steps I can take as a tutor to foster a positive learning environment. As a tutor, my goal is to enhance a student’s supporting knowledge of a topic and help a student apply their knowledge to oftentimes difficult problems. I would love to help your student better understand a difficult concept, prepare for an upcoming exam, or simply review a homework assignment!
