I am a current chemistry teacher with 12 years of paid teaching experience in various science fields and multiple levels. I fell in love with teaching and tutoring while still working on my undergrad at the University of Indianapolis.

I worked for the biology department as a teaching and lab assistant, and I loved helping students, especially college freshmen, make the transition and improve their skills. I applied for, and won, a Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship to complete my master’s and teach at a high need school in Indiana. I successfully completed the program, and I taught 4 years of 8th grade science at Goshen Middle School in northern Indiana. After 4 years there, I transitioned to teaching Integrated Chemistry and Physics and Chemistry I at Penn High School where I stayed for 4 years. During that period, I met my future husband, and we decided to move to North Carolina. I found a job in Wake County Schools and joined the founding team at South Garner High School where I taught Honors Biology, Honors Chemistry, Honors Earth Science, and Physical Science over the course of 2 years. After 2 years, I accepted a job teaching chemistry at Henderson Collegiate High School to be closer to home, and I am currently in my second year there. I have definitely found my new school home!
