Recent Chemical Engineering Grad

I am a recent Chemical Engineering grad of the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technological State University. I was a member of the honors program and finished with a cumulative gpa of 3.55. I have been tutoring for almost 3 years, and have accumulated 1000+ hours of experience teaching. Each hour, sharpening my craft and my ability to help others. All this spent has allowed me to simplify complex ideas to their simple parts that your child is already familiar with. Tutoring is about a love for knowledge and the respective spread of that love.

I’ve taken a variety of classes, from Calculus 1 - 3, to Differential Equations and Organic Chemistry, passing each with flying colors. I have a willingness and devotion to teach the content in as many ways as necessary for mastery. Sometimes the problem boils down to practice and at other times the problem is the method.

When I tutor, I prefer a variety of tactics. I like to use a combination of worksheets, videos, practice tests, and of course homework. It’s a bit unorthodox, but I strongly believe in writing out equations in word form. This allows any learner to know whether they actually understand the full process and puts the content into an easily memorable form. Ultimately, it’s all about what the learner receives the best.

One of my biggest assets is patience. It gives the learner a chance to digest the information and it allows me to observe if they are making the necessary clicks to understand the problems. In addition, it allows for a standard of excellence to be set and gives the learner time to reach it. With commitment on both ends, there is not a thing that cannot be learned.
