I hold an Associate's degree in Computer Science and have genuinely loved tutoring since I first started doing it in college. Working in the math lab at Schenectady County Community College showed me how much of a difference the right explanation at the right moment can make. I went on to work as a Field Tutor through Washington Irving Educational Center, where I tutored K-12 students in both home and institutional settings, coordinating with teachers and carrying the security clearance that role required. Since then I have continued tutoring one-on-one, most recently helping a student learn to code from scratch.
My academic background covers computer science including Data Structures and Java, college-level math through Calculus II, Linear Algebra and Discrete Math, Physics, foreign languages, and web development. That range means I can usually find a connection or analogy that makes a concept land, no matter the subject.
When I work with a student, I like to start with the big picture before getting into the details. I find that understanding the "why" first makes the "how" much easier to hold onto. I am patient, adaptable, and genuinely enjoy the moment when something clicks. I am especially flexible on weekends and welcome students at any level. Feel free to reach out and we can find a time to get started!
