Hi! I am Holly. I would like to introduce myself to you. I am a native Charlottean. After graduation, I started taking classes at Central Piedmont Community College were I earned an Associate in Science Degree. From there I transferred to Appalachian State University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I really enjoyed genetics so I went on to Mississippi State University and received a Master of Science degree in Genetics. I began teaching in graduate school. I was a teacher assistant and was responsible for the genetics and human anatomy labs. After receiving my master's degree I became an instructor at a community college. I have been teaching for 19 years. I teach General Biology 1, General Biology 2, and Principles of Biology. Part of being a good instructor is taking the time to work with students either in a small group or one on one.

I have a very strong passion for teaching. I try and teach in a way that anyone can learn no matter what their background. I think my passion has a way of engaging students. It is amazing to watch students learn and get excited about Biology. I try and share my knowledge with as many people as I can. I teach a science camp for younger kids in the summer. I also enjoy taking my college students to elementary and middle schools to do dissections with the kids.
